Our Values

Our Values

Restoring Ocean Health

We believe climate solutions should not interfere with the ocean's natural processes. Our technology is designed to mimic natural carbon pathways while minimizing impacts on surrounding marine ecosystems.

Advancing Responsible Marine Innovation

Scientific rigor guides every stage of our work. From a multifaceted research and development program to independent third-party verification, we develop marine carbon removal technology that is transparent, measurable, and trusted.

Respecting Coastal & Indigenous Communities

We recognize that successful ocean stewardship depends on collaboration. By partnering with coastal communities, Indigenous peoples, scientists, and governments, we develop solutions that are both locally grounded and globally impactful.

WHY WE EXIST

WHY WE EXIST

The ocean has always been Earth's most powerful carbon sink, absorbing carbon from the surface and locking it away in seafloor sediment on geological timescales. As rising carbon emissions threaten to disrupt the global carbon cycle, we are developing a methodology to help restore its balance.

Gigablue exists to harness the ocean’s potential as a carbon sink. Over years of field research, mesocosm experiments, and biogeochemical modeling, we are building the scientific record, verification frameworks, and technology to enable trusted ocean-based carbon removal at scale.

THE TEAM

THE TEAM

Gigablue's team includes engineers, oceanographers, regulatory experts, and PhDs in marine microbiology, materials science, ocean ecology, and water chemistry. Together, we have conducted permitted field trials across the Mediterranean and South Pacific, with independent oversight from Earth Sciences New Zealand and Cawthron Institute. We are dedicated to engineering a future that can capture and store enough carbon to preserve our planet’s natural balance.
